Craving for a cake but you do not have the energy to do all the baking in the oven that takes hours? Or, are you someone who wants a quick fix and only have a microwave in your apartment? Whatever it is, I feel you. There are times when you just simply want something sweet to cheer you up and satisfy your sweet tooth cravings. I get you because I get that a lot… especially because I am pregnant! 🙂 So here it is, I made a step-by-step tutorial on how to make the best 5-Minute Chocolate Mug Cake for you! Read through for the complete steps.
This recipe is very easy, the ingredients aren’t complicated as well. In fact, you will only need 6 ingredients and you’re all set. The ingredients are also quite basic in the kitchen so I imagine you have them all or probably need to buy a few if you haven’t stocked some up in your pantry.
Since this is a 5-minute mug cake, the serving size of this recipe is just for one person. You can double the the ingredients if you want but make sure to use a bigger mug when you cook it as you don’t want it to overflow in the microwave oven and get it all messed up.
If you are planning to increase the serving size, I recommend that you use up to double of the recipe. Putting too much might have an impact on the cooking efficiency in the microwave. You may on the other hand still make more cakes as long as you use separate mugs if you wish to feed 2 or more people.
The materials to use are also basic. All you need are 2 mugs(one for the cake, the other to be used to melt the butter,) a fork, measuring spoons, and a microwave.
When choosing a mug to use, make sure that it is microwave safe. Some mugs are not safe to be used in the microwave and may not be able to handle the heat. Using a non-microwaveable mug is dangerous as it can break. If you don’t own a microwave safe mug, you may use a bowl(that’s also microwave safe) as a replacement.
Excited? Let’s begin. Make sure to gather all of the ingredients listed in the recipe below and follow the steps. The entire process only takes about five minutes as long as you have everything prepared. So enjoy baking! If and when you make this recipe, let us know! We’d love to hear how it went on.
